AH Management Boosts of Quality Professionals

Africa Harvest Management team has quality professionals with diverse expertise on governance and management of institutions.

The management team is led by Florence Wambugu the Chief Executive officer of Africa Harvest. Over the last ten years, Dr. Wambugu has successfully provided leadership in public/private partnership and scientific consortium for implementation of various major projects for crops and tree improvement, with significant impact on the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in rural communities.

Michael Njuguna
is the Finance and Business Development Director at Africa Harvest. Previously, he worked as the Program Administrator for ISAAA Africenter. He has over 17 years experience in business development and financial management having worked for education, consultancy training and charitable non-profit organizations.

James Onsando
is the Technical Director at Africa Harvest.  Previously, he worked at Unilever Tea and Lipton Tea Supply, subsidiaries of Univlever International, where he headed the Agricultural Research Program and the Unilever Global Tea Sustainability Program. He has over 25 years experience in Plant Pathology having worked for both Kenya Agriculture Research Institute and the Tea Research Foundation of Kenya where he pioneered plant pathology in the tea and horticulture industry. 

Daniel Kamanga
is the Communications and Public Acceptance Director at Africa Harvest.  Previously, he was the Director of Business Development at World Steam, a subsidiary of Econet Wireless International, based in South Africa.   He has also worked for Liberty Life, a financial services company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. He has over 15 years experience in journalism and was a Business Sub-editor at the East African Standard and Associate Business Editor at the Nation, two of Kenya’s largest daily newspapers.

James Okeno
is the Regulatory Affairs Manager at Africa Harvest. Previously, he was the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Horticulture at Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya.  He has over 15 years of academic experience conducting research in plant breeding specializing in horticulture through which he garnering his Msc from University of Nairobi, Kenya and PhD from University of Giessen.

Josephine Songa
heads the Capacity Building and Technology Deployment program at Africa Harvest.  She is also in charge of the tissue culture banana program at AH, which through its ‘whole value chain implementation strategy’ aims to contribute to the household food security and income levels of rural communities, through facilitation of access to and use of TC banana plantlets.
